THE EASY WAY TO HEALTHY

cycle style, cycle routes, london

Everyone says that January is all about setting intentions about getting healthy for the year ahead. This can be a little bit daunting, especially when the days are still darker and colder, and your body feels in a constant state of post-holiday dullness. Fortunately, a lot of us have one item that gives us a failsafe, easy way of getting those endorphins going and that mood lifted - a bike!

Even a short 20 minute ride will give you mega health benefits - like boosting your heart rate, getting your metabolism going and giving your mood a much needed endorphin boost. Think it’s too cold? Layer up - multiple thinner layers are proven to retain heat way better than a single chunky outer layer - take a look at our sale here for inspiration.

Here are our favourite cycle routes around London - no Lycra needed and guaranteed to boost your mood and fitness levels:

1. Hackney (London Fields, Victoria Park and Hackney Downs)
Start at the bottom of Broadway Market at the Cat and Mutton Bridge. Ride down Sheep Lane, along the Canal to Victoria Park. Loop around beside the duckpond (beautifully misty on chilly mornings) and maybe stop for a delicious coffee at the Pavilion Cafe. Ride up Gore Road and Well Street to Hackney Downs, ending at the Russet Cafe just off Hackney Downs Park for a toasty end of ride brunch.

Avoid the main roads with this smugly chic shortcut into Soho for a day hitting up the sales. From Essex Road, ride down Colebrooke Road and cut across City Road to Amwell Street in Islington. This route takes you down back streets through beautiful historic Bloomsbury and stylish Clerkenwell ending in Soho Square.
